George Lewith Prize for General Practice 2026

We’re delighted to share some lovely news about a former medical student who spent time with us.
Leah Deacon has been Highly Commended in the George Lewith Prize for General Practice 2026, awarded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
Leah’s work looked at how we record chronic kidney disease in general practice. This might sound like a small detail, but good record keeping helps us make sure patients get the right follow-up, reviews and support when they need it.
The project was supported by the team at The Hereward Practice, and Leah kindly shared her thanks for the guidance and support she received during her time with us.
We’re really proud to have played a part in this work and to see Leah’s achievement recognised nationally.
Congratulations Leah, from everyone at The Hereward Practice.
